[03-Nov-2008] Australian sailor Paul Larson's Vestas SailRocket project continues with recent runs at the speed track in Namibia. On November 2, the team took the Vestas SailRocket out in strong conditions and managed a new peak speed of 46.75 knots. Available material includes video and stills of trial runs with the Vestas SailRocket.
L'hydroptère has hit 52.86 in the bigger boats on a training run. i think the official time they set was 51.36.

both sailrocket and hydropter have gone faster,but it is the avarage speed between two points that is measured.500 meters 1 nautical mile

On 4th September 2009, in the Hyères harbour, lHydroptère became the fastest sailing boat on the planet over 500 meters and one nautical mile.
51.36 knots over 500 meters and 48.72 knots over one nautical mile are the new speed records to beat
