I wonder if Stephen Spielberg patterned his movie "War Horse" after this amazing little mare with such amazing courage. ??? If not, Spielberg needs to produce a movie directly about Reckless. I was in high school during the Korean war....why did we never hear about her? Think of the lives she saved; think about how our troops relied upon the ammo she delivered!!!!! I say, shame on the media coverage she never received as a true hero for our troops!

I grew up riding at Pendleton in the early to mid 60's and remember Reckless very well. She didn't get around well anymore but she loved people and attention. She had a Shetland pony named Samson as a companion.They need to make a movie of her life story. rebeccameador@zoomtown.com

What an amazingly beautiful story, and I agree that they should make a movie about her life. She was a priceless treasure; and many people would go to see her story.
