Needing help with my xbox 360 problem, the system runs fine but it seems to have trouble with the connection to the tv. Happened yesterday on a different tv and managed to fix the problem by moving things around...but it is back and harder to fix

  • Cheap hdmi cable problem

  • @rafisantu nope, it was the hdmi port

  • any updates? It works for me with 480p and everything under the 1024x???? resolution, but I want to play my games on 1080p!

  • @ZSNES1994 as i said above, it seems to be the HDMI PORT. I am yet to send it away to get fixed so i can not confirm that. I managed to move the xbox in a certain position so that it plays in full 1080p. Try shuffling your xbox around a bit. Oddly enough, when i bought a new HDMI cable it actually helped me to find that connection.

  • Update: The problem seems to be the HDMI port, as a new cable did not work. The constant flashing stopped, and i was able to position the xbox in a certain position that it seems to like, atleast until i can send it to be fixed.

  • I'm having the exact same problem, the image is flickering and the colors are a bit messed up. The HDMI is fine, using it for my PC right now.

Would you please message me when you've found a fix? I'll do the same.

  • @AssassinJordi Hi, had any luck? i have managed to get mine working down stairs, i have to have it in a certain position, and if i move it i lose the picture, and have to spend another 10 minutes finding a position it works. I tried getting a new HMDI cable, this worked for a while, but must have been the position it was in as when i took it upstairs it began not working again.

  • I had the same problem xbox 360 slim. Was working on my Sony TV for 2 months then I moved it into my gaming room and set it up on my pc monitor. Working great. Then moved it back to my Sony and no picture. Wouldnt even work on my pc monitor aswell. But weird thing is it will work on both LG TV's I have. Have now sent this to microsoft for repair as there seems to be no fix for this problem. Loads of people on different forums with same problem. Just hope mine comes back working.

  • will someone plz help me my xbox is hooked up to my tv with the red blue green video cable, i dont have the good hdmi like newer xboxs have where it just slides in, i have it all hooked up correctly and it works when the switch on the hdmi cable is on tv but when i switch it to hdtv it goes blank, even if set to 480, and ive done it on other tvs everything works perfect, is it possible my tv has the hdmi (red blue green) inputs for nothing and it doesnt even do hd i dont know what to do??

  • @TheyCallMeGodOnHalo I guess its my xbox fault. But if u bought a new one, U should rlly check whats the problem. Rlly thoughr that that kindof problelms wouldnt show up on a 360 :/

  • @swissman95 same thing happened to me, my HDMI cable worked fine on my Xbox 360 Elite, when I bought a Xbox 360 slim yesterday my tv says the same thing as your tv, I does not work on my Elite either =/

  • I have a question PLs awnser! The normal Cable for the 360 Works. If im Putting the HDMI cable in the 360 and in the tv (Switch channel to HDMI) the TV Says: "It cannot show Channel" is something defect from the 360, or did I do somethin wrong? The Tv Shoudlnt be the problem.

  • @ZSNES1994 btw, I have exact the same problem.

So now I want to know, when did you buy yours? and is your screen a LG?
