The Horse's Mouth, Lorcan and I love the film + show you East Village w/ my poster art no third term

The Horse's Mouth is one of my favorite films and Alec Guinness is brilliant (as usual) as artist Gulley Jimson. Now I don't plan on getting arrested and Mike Bloomberg is not the first billionaire I have taken umbrage with....I do think of Jim Mosaic Man Power when I watch Guiness superb performance!

Alec Guinness as Gulley Jimson when negotiating a price for a mural he proposes to elite rich, patrons of the art, asks who are the most enlightened people in the world (millionaires -- this was made in the 50's so I am thinking billionaires like Mike Bloomberg)...the rich! he states.

I really think of Jim Power when I watch this performance.
Jim the mosaic man makes me feel like the patron in this film when he offers to pay Jimson not to call him!
Lorcan Otway who photographed my painting "Mayor Bloomberg King of New York" talks about why he loves this film, he hits on "the outsider art " element and I think he, I and many artist including Jim Mosaic Man Power in a big way have some "Gully Jimson". I always say I want to be famous after I am dead so I can enjoy it but what a nice ending the film had and I confess I would be pleased with such a "happy ending".

I bought new "special edition director approved" to enjoy this film now especially as I take my political art to the streets of New York. I show you some photos of the East Village and my poster urging no third term for mayor king Mike Bloomberg.

When I was a much younger man I sometimes had a pint or ten with a painter it was often said was the inspiration for Gully Jimson.His name was Gerald Wilde,and A Joyce Carey was his patron.Gerald always denied Gully was based on him,but their personalities were remarkably similar.Gerald could be difficult when sober,impossible when drunk,but to hear him recount times spent with people like Dylan Thomas,Dan Davin,Iris Murdoch,even Augustus John was fascinating.he died on his 85th birthday.
