what kind of alcohol do i use to make one?

I used SLX denatured alcohol that I purchased at Home Depot.

@otetechie Take care if you use methanol, unlike ethanol.the fumes are toxic-- I've used it without apparent ill effect in a slightly confined space, but not a good idea in small shelters like a snowhole or covered trench.

@otetechie See if you can find a fuel line antifreeze (like HEET brand) or a break line antifreeze that is made of methanol. Those will work in this and other alcohol stoves. I wouldn't try hand sanitizer in anything like this stove. However, I have successfully boiled water in a canteen stove and cup using hand sanitizer in a little dish I made from aluminum foil. It took about 1.5 or 2oz of hand sanitizer.

@MrBillTroop73 spent all day today trying to find something i can burn in an alcohol stove. I guess it's harder to find alcohol in Iraq then i thought it would be. The only thing i can find is gel hand sanitizer. Will any of these stoves run off of that?

Yes, it burned all of its fuel supply completely.

I havent found it yet. It will turn up, and when it does, Ill do a burn test.

Did this stove get hot enough to burn all the alcohol out or was there unburnt alcohol left in the casing when it went out? Have you found this one again so you can do a burn test to see how long it runs? I have only messed with the Super Cat stove but I really appreciate your creativity.
