The dummies was a solo project by Slade's bassist (and violinist, pianist, guitarist) Jim Lea together with his brother Frank.

The reasons why the rather shy Jimmy Lea started this project was because he wanted to see if the reasons why the radio didn't play Slade's new singles was because of his and Noddy Holders songwriting or because that Slade was rated as totally out.

The singles recived plenty of airtime and the main reasons why this one didn't reach the charts was probalby down to distribution problems.

Jim Lea has recently released his first real solo record. The album (called "Therapy") is available from his website http://www.jimleamusic.com

  • Very cool. Makes me wonder if there's also a vid of "When The Lights Go Out"?

  • Only my live (Slade) composite as far as I know. However he also mimed/performed Miles out to sea on the same show. No other Jim Lea solo videos exists as far as I know (except private filmed videos from JimJam)
