The clocks at the beginning are driving me crazy. Right now, I'm convinced that the position of the clock hands are actually latitude/longitude coordinates which will point to the Mole's hometown, but I can't make them fit.

That clue is going to make me feel so dumb once it's explained.

Yes they did. The instructions on the camera said so. It said that there was no time limit, but there WERE being timed.
