After a full day of trying out a Kindle Fire review copy, I can imagine this newcomer taking the place of my iPad. In this video I'll tell you why. For a front-row seat at the press conference at which Jeff Bezos introduced the Fire, i hope you'll check out the 99-cent Kindle article I wrote about it, at http://amzn.to/siuhGk . Thanks!

  • Did you check out Colornote? It may be what u are looking for? Just found it on Amazon apps.

  • @gmed2 I did check out Colornote and it looks like a good app. Not quite what I could do with iBrainstorm, though, which enabled me to have numerous postit-like notes on the screen and I could resize and move them around to make patterns of content for a presentation or podcast. I hope I'll see it for the Fire some day!

  • (Ran out of characters) If you know of any good sites for quilting books/magazines, would you mind sharing? Thanks!

  • @samalawolf I will pass this along to my wife, Darlene, and make a note to get back to you if she finds any. It might help if you can email me at PodChronicles AT gmail dot com, so I can forward your question to her directly.

  • Wonderful review. My attraction to the Fire is the size. The iPad is too big and heavy to hold with one hand. My hesitation is the sluggishness of the silk browser because I use the browser more than anything else on these devices. I really wish that Apple would make either a 7 inch tablet or a 5 inch iPhone.

  • @CountryComesToTown I agree that size is the big factor, along with price. If Apple comes out with a 7-inch tablet priced at $199 or thereabouts, this will be a whole new ball game. At this point, the Fire benefits from having created an all-new category and being the only one in it.

  • Both of em are good the end goodbye after hmmm 40 secs ..

  • iPads...... you`re paying 50 dollars for a new camera thing, 100 dollars on a new screen, and another 100 for other things! Kindle Fire......... Much simpler! You get ALOT more free apps on the Kindle Fire. I know because I have a Kindle Fire, and my sister has a iPad 1 and 2!

  • Cool! You started watching Lost!

    They're in purgatory.

  • It can definitely replace a laptop or a ipad.....I commented on my kindle fire

  • @DWJ202 I think you bought the wrong kindle. The Kindle Fire is for users to have more of a tablet feel while still being able to read books. Just get one of those black ink Kindles if you want to just read! The kindle fire in my opinion has way better battery life than most expected anyways..

  • I just think Kindle Fire should have better battery life like the Ink Kindles have. I do like the Kindle Fire but it does not compare to the Older Kindle devices that battery last a month without recharging. I have to be hooked up to a power cord in order to read a book using Kindle Fire. I'm sending the Fire back for a refund and getting the Kindle 3 g model for traveling. Kindle Fire was over Hyped in my opinion.

  • @matthew41114 Are you stupid or what?

  • @DWJ202 There shouldn't be high expectations for battery life. Even the best tablet money can buy only goes on to about 10 hours. It's called overreacting, learn to control it.

  • Don't you miss having the page numbers. The Kindle Fire feels like a led weight in your hands after an hour of reading. Test To Speech software is a great software for kids. Amazon purchased Audible.com and they built the Kindle Fire around that for profit. We are sending our Kindle Fire back and getting the previous model with Text To Speech and better battery usage.
