  • Caucasian Ovcharka is a wolf dog. It has been guarding sheeps from wolves for centuries. It is a dog which CAN kill a wolf. Nowadays people use them to guard their houses but naturally it isn't only a guard dog but also a killer.

  • yeah i had an english mastiff as a companion and as a guard dog someguy broke into our house we woke up and our dog had him pinned to the ground we called the cops and now he is serving time in prison :)

  • Kavkazskaya Ovcharka is the best dog ;D

  • Impressive dogs, but I would not choose one.

WAY to much work, I'll stick to rottweilers.

If I want a challenge later I'll get a tosa inu or a presa canario.

CO is too much dog for me, man.

Even if I could handle it, it would take up too much of my life.

  • I wish I had one of those ... I hate my mailman so much!

  • good work but as soon as he turned his back you should of smacked his ass.

  • @WildB0i Yah man if i moved somewhere cold id get an akita or an ovcharka, the only reason im not going with ovcharkas now is its way too hot for them where im moving

  • u must be brave facing a dog with that much tenacity

The COs I have seen are easily prompted into an aggressive stance. Yet they are NOT dogs that will show a prolonged level of fight drive. By fight drive, I mean "competitive aggression," where a dog may not show the classic signs of defensive aggression, but it will LIKE the act of fighting & enjoy the activity. When you push, he pushes back-HARDER. The more you up the anty, the more he raises his game. Generally COs will NOT offer that durable, lasting level of fight.

Lethargic? I never said that. What I DID say, is that they're not a hi drive breed. They, generally, are loaded in defense. That can have several meanings. In the case of a CO, it means they have a LOW defense threshold. Meaning it doesn't take much for them to be put into a "fight or flight" position. Yet once in that diive, the RESPONSE can still vary greatly. Meaning, the dog can be quick to "feel" threatened, yet the response towards the threat be weak or strong.

  • @67goldtops my friend his a bitch of thgis breed but he's inable to find a stud, if any body can help that would be great. Close to sheffield is preferable

  • Great dog! Nice work.
