Walter Young, brandon lloyd, Greg Lewis, Aaron Moorehead were all receivers on that team. We were definitely smaller and slower on defense than LSU though. They were very good.

Yeah Illinois blew, yet another bowl game they didn't belong in.

Illinois got pwned in this game. I was there. It got so bad the fans started getting bored and throwing things on the field, and Saban had to use the referee's microphone to plead for it to stop. It also snowed in New Orleans that night, causing massive traffic pileups.

Illinois had some pro talent on offense that year though. Was it Walter Young and Brandon Lloyd? It was a tremendous job by the coaching staff getting the team to accomplish what they did considering the defense was very suspect. Kinda similar to LSU in that respect but our D was a little more talented but the offense definitely carried us in 2001.
