Canon HF100 Test

So here's the deal...

I recently purchased a Canon Vixia HF100 HD Cam and I've gotta say, I'm in love with this thing. The video has a nice film-like quality to it when shooting in Cine Mode at 24p. Me and my coworker Damien were recently doing a job where I was driving a truck for a commercial shoot, so I took the camera with me and had him shoot some footage while I drove around. This isn't meant to be some life changing masterpiece of a short, its really just a test run for the camera set to the brilliant music of Ennio Morricone's score for "The Mission". This track is called "Falls", in case you were wondering.

I'm not a techie but I can tell you that this was originally shot at 1080i resolution, converted down to 954 x 5?? (sorry I forget) through iMovie and then uploaded to YouTube. It's a great camera but the format gives Final Cut 3.5 some issues. It's kind of ridiculous to have to import through iMovie, transfer that to an external hard drive and then put it through to FInal Cut Express just to work with it, so I just belted this out with iMovie.

I think the music makes it work. It's hard to screw something up with Morricone playing over it. LOL

Hello! Finally somebody who has a vixia. We are using cameras that seem to be slightly ahead of their time. If you could help me, I am very frustrated because I can't transfer my VIXIA HFS10 files to PC without a hitch. Only the audio comes through well. I have to tell you thought, despite this, I LOVE the VIXIA. It's AMAZING. I use the component to TV and it's better than any HD quality on the tube. If you could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU.

i use imovie and i have this exact camera but i cant get this good of quality at all idk what im doing wrong though. its really pissing me off

I have this but returning it. I ordered the vado hd because its smaller and can be carried around everywhere. didn't open the canon hf100 i dont think its small enough to carry around. I have until Tuesday to return so anyone who has both let me know what i should do

film in HD then the HQ button on youtube will become a HD button and its much better than HQ
