  • Can you comment on the tuning of the instrument here?

    Thanks.

  • I almost always tune in some version of a well-tempered tuning, usually a sixth-comma tuning or something derived from one.

In the case of the Couperin recording, it was made spontaneously (a student came into my studio with some recording equipment and asked me to play through the Couperin prelude), so I don't really know what tuning was on the instrument at the time.

  • who built the harpsichord? It sounds wonderful! Is it a copy of the Colmar Ruckers?

  • The harpsichord is a Taskin 1769 model made by my brother Keith Hill (Manchester, MI/USA)

  • F. Couperin was one of the greatest keyboard composers, make no mistake.

  • Underneath all the complicated technicalities, this is a beautiful piece of music.

  • So beautiful and impressive!

  • Pas mal. 4*/5.

  • Absolutely great , much appreciated and truly an example !

  • I love how he actually specifies the complex, florid ornamentation in exact detail...yet it is written in such a way as if to sound improvisational.

  • This music is SO much harder to play well than it sounds. Bravo.

  • Dire que c'est mon voisin... j'ai bien de la chance :)

Bravo , j'aimerai beaucoup vous entendre un jour :)

  • from 0:40 to 1:53- pure bliss

  • one can listen to this sweet baroque music and never get tired of listening to it, specially if played by that melodious instrument which is the cembalo, F. Couperin did have a wonderful music composed, this is a fine example
