  • I've heard lotsa covers of this,but this is the only cover that got a ranking of A+ from me.Maybe because instead of just doing it note-for-note,Nick and the boys changed the old semi-drone dragging rhythm that worked so well on the Velvet's original into a hard-charging sing-along freight train that chugs along without letup.It's my favorite Nick Cave LP too--how many singers can get away with doing songs by Glen Campbell.Leadbelly the Velvets,and "Hey Joe" on 1 LP and do it right?--not many.
