@TommyTurntables1 I was just at a Japanese place the other day and ordered kappa maki...the asian woman waitressing looked at me like I had 3 heads. I then said, "cucumber roll" When she brought it she had to ask if I had visited Japan. I told her in fact I had lived there many years ago. So funny to me at least that I could probably work there and actually understand the Japanese who come in, but I wouldn't be hired because I'm 'American. ;o)
@TommyTurntables1 Lol, it's so true... most Westerners either can't tell the difference or don't bother looking closely. I find that in the vast majority of "Japanese" restaurants near where I live in the States, the conversations between servers or those echoing out of the kitchen are either in Korean or Cantonese and most if not all of the staff are obviously not of Japanese descent (to say nothing of the food's lack of authenticity). Kinda makes me feel cheated, heh...

yeah thats pretty on point haha, i dont think i have ever been to a japanese restaurant that was not owned by koreans, at least around where i live
