this is exactly why I would love to work at a zoo ^^- I know it means picking up lots of poop...lots and LOTS of poop, depending on the animal, but to be in such close contact to creatures like this is very rewarding :3
as of now, no one can "get" a panda, for a pet or otherwise. China decides which zoos receive, either through a lease program, which means the receiving zoo pays money for the time that the panda is at that foreign zoo; or the second option is if China decides to give as a gift to the foreign zoo. If anyone is caught hurting or trying to capture a panda, I beleive the penalty is death by execution in China.
Yeah the zoo staff spokesperson did a wonderful job explaining the heritage, birth, etc. Wonderful, beautiful bears these are. I appreciate Atlanta Zoo for their conservation efforts.
I'm sorry, no the panda's are not kept in the glass cage, that is the viewing cage, they take them in there for everyone to see, they have a seperate living area.

well they can be free and shot or they can be kept in care and looked after and kept alive.
