One of the largest natural disasters, the Great East Japan Earthquake occured on March 11th, 2011 and was followed by a powerful tsunami and many aftershocks. 15,782 people were dead and 4,086 were disappeared (as of Sep 2011).

After the earthquake, many relief supplies and temporary staffing were provided by foreign countries to help afflicted people.

Also, trespassing on the area near to the nuclear plant was prohibited.
Now many people cannot go back home and live in far area.
Almost all children who suffered from earthquake and tsunami have not been able to live in their house but live in temporary housings.
But many of them cannot go to same school and meet their good friends.
However, they are trying to do their best with the reconstruction, and hope to beat very cold winter coming to Tohoku.
In affected areas, children are now the hope in many of afflicted people's hearts.

Rakuten ichiba has started selling relief supplies at nonprofit prices. This action was supported by shops on Rakuten Ichiba who are sending the goods to the affected areas.

The support service of Tasuke-ai now has been held for 8 months with the warm heart of customer's support, and we are keeping on this event continuously.

In affected area, even though the situation is getting better, almost all people cannot go back home and are still living in temporary houses.
Many of nursery school children and elementary school students are living in unfamiliar places and travel long distances to school.
We decided to send Christmas cards to Tohoku area, which has some of the coldest and longest winters in Japan, to empower children there.
Would you like to send a Christmas card to the children in the affected areas?
