Sylphie was born in Japan and moved to Canada with us when she was 8 years. Like many other aging dogs, Sylphie developed arthritis and senile dementia. Her eye sight and hearing were gradually gone, and her scent as well. She could not find her water bowl and food, and I fed her from my hand. In the end, she did not recognize me although I sat right next to her and gave her a massage. She felt completely alone in her own world because of her limited senses. She cried a lot day and night. And we finally came to a hard decision to have her put down. She was 13 years and 5 months. She is deeply missed but will live in our heart forever.

  • I am so sorry for your loss, we just lost our dog to cancer right before new years and it has been heartbreaking, and I am in fact crying right watching your video. The only solace is that if you believe in it knowing they will be waiting for us at the rainbow bridge when its our time and then they will fill us with puppy kisses!
