Voyager - Halfway Hotel (1979)

Halfway Hotel was UK band Voyager's first single & was the title track from their debut album. It was their only hit single.
It was a much bigger hit here in Oz reaching No.15 (only No.33 in UK).

Due to their great video it got played on Australian TV espec "Countdown" & so became a very well known song ... I am surprised it was not an even bigger hit here!!

Halfway Hotel was written by lead singer / keyboardist Paul French.

I heard this song on the radio one day in 1979 and went out and bought the album. The whole album is superb, with memorable songs, well written, produced and performed. I haven't heard any of the tracks from it for years, but I still sing them constantly and pretty much know all the songs by heart. Good stuff.

I remeber this from seeing my first ever gig... ELO wembley 1981 Time tour and the fantastic Voyager supported them. I remeber this song and bought everything they did. still have it all on vinyl plus the best of and Eye contact cd's. wish id known about the reunion thing last year, would have been there!
