'The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) satellite has been launched aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II Heavy carrier rocket. Lift-off occurred from Launch Complex 17B at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, United States, at 16:05 GMT.   • do you think this is why the yanks are skint??

  • Is is just me, or has NASA been outdoing itself lately with all these new probes and satellites.

  • The Compton Gamma Ray Observatory made a well documented sighting of a GRB in '99.

  • looks like it was a waste of time changing my light bulbs to energy efficient ones, great launch to watch.

  • GRBs even, duh.

  • perhaps they wanted to hide from public the fact that GBRs are stars hitting edge of the universe, now with improved obfuscator unit built in scientists can be safely left to trying figure out boundless, flat, but self-contained universe. YACT (third hit in google ;)

  • So I guess GLAST is a sort of replacement for the ill fated Compton?
