  • And Rosa: I don't think The Female of the Species is cool or funky, however, the group I made this video for know this song and can relate to the lyrics. Again, poetry is open to interpretation.

  • Why do people have to be so rude? Again, it's a video aimed at my own students. I know the personalities of the pupils I teach and I also know what helps them learn. That is the most important thing for me.

  • dude u have brought shame on my favourite poem ever

u dont capture the violence at all and ur music is terrible

  • The target audience for this video are 15-16 year olds preparing for their GCSE exams. I think the music does go with the poem and helps students understand some of the underlying themes of the poem, although there are other songs that would have suited it more, I thought about my students first and what would grab their attention. The images are to help them imagine the metaphors in the poem and to get across the "story".

  • Were doing this poem now.

We havent got our mocks until january (:

Just wanted to tell all of youtube that i got into college (Y)

  • Congratulations.

  • The great thing about poetry is it's open to interpretation. What one person feels about it can differ completely from what another feels.

So don't criticise this, it's just another interpretation.

  • as a 16 year old, I believe this served no purpose, at all. Just my opinion.

  • @Englishgallery because your students are going to be thrilled when their teacher presents them with 'cool and funky' music ... oh wait. Why not try and make it so much more understandable by using the right tone and something actually authentic.

  • To avoid having a woman like havisham, make her want to leave you by bothering the crap out of her and make her leave you.

  • we watched this in class and i was the only one to be singing along to 1:10

  • i got an A* in english lit and lang, no thanks to this video.
