Compression changes (for the worse) from Take I: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVdQ1IsNu2o (See below for compression notes.)
This is why I bought Final Cut Express -- to cut in B-roll video footage on top of one video/audio take. I couldn't do that in iMovie. Very irritating. With this quick experiment I'm happy to report that FCE is treating me pretty nicely. Yesterday the program seemed daunting, but these edits just required a little dragging and dropping. (Definitely helped by the Lynda.com FCE intro tutorial.)
Compression notes: Used "ideal" settings used for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wJpBmtUvis (below). But this seems a tiny bit crappier than Take I when viewed on my computer, but does seem better when uploaded to YouTube -- especially when selecting the higher size.
File is 23MB. Take I was 29MB.
Not sure what the hell to do about compression.
At least the editing worked out, which was point of experiment.
