Orthognathic Surgery Video 1 - 1 Month Prior

I'm having my jaw surgery on August 11th 2010. I've had braces for 38 months & they haven't been able to fix my lower jaw, (which is too far backwards) my open bite, or the unevenness in my jaw.

hey, i have a tremendous overbite and i believe it is a leading cause of being 17 and not being able to find a gf. i believe i also so have a slight open bite. i think if i get corrective surgery it will help me out a lot. but im not sure if it would be costly. i havent been to dentist in about 3 years cuz my mom doesnt want to spen money but im hoping to see a dentist soon to ask about my overbite and to see what he could do. how did ur surgery come to be? and what was the cost?

@cena00sux Well, I've had my braces for 4 years in January now, they told us about the surgery when I was younger. We immediately dismissed the idea and they told us they could get it 99% perfect with just orthodontics. Around last January they told us it wouldn't work without the surgery, so we decided to go with it. We're paying around 8,000, but the surgery cost is around 50,000.

@arqlizcarter Oh, that's a good question.! We (the doctor) had to run a pre authorization to them & our insurance covered 80% so we end up paying like $8,000ish. But, all insurances vary.

2 years ago my orthondonist said i had a severe overbite they got fixed with the herbst appliance so i didnt get surgery :p
