If you notice in all that he is saying, he isn't supporting one side over another, he is doing what he does best, dissecting what is and what isn't. He didn't go into the other details on the facts that it is the govt. involvement in the healthcare system that has broken it and made it the way it is.

He mentioned the private driving up the cost, well yes that's true but why? Because they have special rights given to them by the govt. that monopolizes them and lets them do what they want.

just because some can make lots of money doesn't mean they are contributing anything of worth to society. likewise, it doesn't mean they are good citizens. it just means they found a way to make money. when you say "this is painful in the short term.." remember that these are people's lives we are talking about. the "short term" (years) ain't so nice to experience. if you were let go, you'd be thanking God for the government programs that kept you alive. don't disregard humanity to gain profit..

our living standards went up- and all we had to pay was our collective souls.
Down with urbanization!

what about the role the clinton corporation played in the rise of oligarchy and the destruction of the middle class?
clinton signed NAFTA for fuck's sake!
Clinton also oversaw massive deregulation on wall street.

Stop being partisan- BOTH parties are wholly owned subsidiaries of corporate america.

hey man i totally agree with you on your main points so lets find commmon ground. clinton is responsible as well. he continued the deregulation policies of reagan and bush senior. and nafta was one of his biggest blunders. u are exactly right. both parties, especially congress, are responsible. i was out of place saying it was all bush's fault. but besides that, almost every other issue such as war taxing policies were blunders mostly made by conservatives, especially in the last 8 years.

there are two viable solutions- one short term, the other long term (but absolutely VITAL to our preservation).
1. get corporate cash OUT of elections. Publicly funded elections. Free, equal mandated airtime on the major networks (cutting the cost of elections by approx. 50%)

2. EDUCATE our citizenry.

(WE also need to break up the media monopolies. The USA used to have a vibrant press, according to Alexis de Tocqueville in the 1830's. His book Democracy in America is a GREAT read!)

u couldnt have said it better. im glad we agree on the bigger picture here. u said it: America NEEDS to be educated. we still have people that believe that sarah palin has it all. people need to read more, definitely. not watch those biased news programs. im definitely going to read the book u suggested. and ur exactly right about the funding. no more money from lobbyists or corporations. im pretty sure obama got donations from ordinary citizens, the way it should be. correct me if im wrong.
