Is the car able to mechanically deconnect the alternator? Else it is always connected to engine, so always creates electric energy from the motor mechanical rotation, so always is recharging the battery. The alternator is usually 300+ watts, that means enough for riding with all lights.

actually the heat energy isn't converted, the kinetic energy of the axle is converted directly using a generator.
