Products should start to move!

This is a prototype of a reading lamp that moves according to the values an individual strives for. For example, when you like to be dominant, the lamp will follow you like a slave. And when you like to help others, the lamp will not work well and ask you to help him to stay upright.

It is part of a research project that is aimed at finding out how to design for specific human values in interaction to make interactions with products aesthetically more valuable.

  • i must explain...it's not a product. It is a first prototype I used for an experiment at the university.

and there's no idiot, still it's not stand alone either, as this prototype was connected to a laptop running Max/MSP.

BTW, There is now a much more elegant version that although it does not physically move, it does have a much nicer shape and dynamic light patterns. But still it's a prototype...not very marketable probably...it even uses water cooling.

  • a helpless lamp...????

i´d rather say the most annoying lamp ever..!

sorry but who wants to help a lamp to work correctly?...

the first part while the lamp helps the user is a good start but then...

  • its a nice idea, but i wouldnt like doing homework late and the lamp wants me to pet it, i would be like COME ON!

  • I think I would smash the lamp, or dissconect it, see how helpless it feels then!

  • YOU FOOLS !

  • This is both ridiculous and useless in function

I would not be suprised if it was some idiot under a table yanking it up and down.

    You lot are suckers :P

  • Cheesy as hell

  • Can you give me a link where can i buy that? Please, thanks you.

  • thats cool .How much ?
