  • This is superb music, played by Master musicians.

Notice how they are dressed. Tuxes.

    Very classy.

    Check out Max's drums.

See what can be done with a small be-bop set, kids?

No need for a 20 piece drumset.

Oh yeah, you also need the talent to PLAY that be-bop set ~

    Thank You, Max ~

  • Lord have mercy this is good! Wow, all of them are great and this is the finest performance I've ever heard or seen of Max Roach. My heavens, he was a genious all the way through this tune he did what he does best, plays for the tune then plays for himself, his soul and anyone with ears to hear his artisty.

  • the most important thing is not knowing, in my opinion, who among roach or Haynes is better, but noted that both have reached the highest level in their musical language. Then each player chooses its "neighborhood" ... maybe I'm closer to Haynes, maybe ........ A story of jazz without either would be a story with a vacuum

  • absolutely brilliant!!

  • totally solid.

  • Wow! I was never really much of a Max fan but this was unbelievable!! Great stuff from the whole band.

  • Perfection

  • I DON'T LIKE IT !!!!! I LOVE IT :)

  • Dr. Roach, what can I say !!!!

  • Holy fuck I just shit myself

  • @Easleytee

Man shut yo mouth! Both are great masters. You can't Max down and out like that! I saw Max do a solo performance with just the Hi Hat and killed it! It was more interesting then some guys playing the whole the kit. And Max was the first "melodic" soloist. Another thing, do you know about Max's collaborative performances with Cecil Taylor? And the World Saxophone Qt? And his percussion group M'Boom? Oh, you sound like a kid...
