all these recordings of russian pianists now available on youtube. internet has changed a lot.... when I studied piano there we did not even knew about them except a few names like Gilels and Richter. Even their recordings were mostly unavailable and it needed big research to find some of their recordings. we can compare now without problems. there is so much to hear....

Another GREAT recording. Do you know by chance is Oleg Boshniakovich still playing? He must be about 90 years old now. He was also master of artistic whistle. He did it on stage, for example some Liszt's songs with his own accompaniment. Extremely virtuosic, very fine nuances. Is any of his whistle on Youtube?

Oleg Dragomirovich died in 2006.
He also was an outstanding accompanist and an excellent writer.
I don't have any recordings on him whistling... ;) but I have plenty of piano! Will post more.
