@coatlesscarl You should give Rushjet's DMC converter a try instead. It results in slightly, yet clearly noticable higher quality samples. Seems to reduce more of that mid range distortion so the samples all sound pretty clear. I could give it a go and sample them for you though I suppose if you don't feel like messing with it. I was messing around with this song myself awhile back anyways so it wouldn't be too bad.

Hmm... Sounds interestingly out of tune in some places compared to the original on hardware. That's weird. Maybe it's my imagination. Sounds well done either way though.

@XBladenoJutsu The lead has a slightly detuned counterpart (VRC6 square 2), to try and mimic the sound of the lead in the original. That might be what you're hearing.

@coatlesscarl Probably so, but right off the bat, that Hit sample sounded it as well. Anyway, for the BGM in the game, alot of the songs have more than one channel playing the same notes alot of the time, you you're good with the pitch offset there. Makes me a bit curious though. Do you extract samples from the game, or use an audio editor on a broken down channel from the game to get the samples you want?

@XBladenoJutsu It's possible that MMX's instruments are all offset just a bit. I isolated a channel instead of using an extracted sample for the hits in this case, so it would make sense. The sample also gets a bit distorted when you boost the volume in FT. I'll see if I can't tune the hits to FT's default.
