Louis Vuitton is famous for its hardcase luggage and accessories. I have been a big fan of hardcase items. Louis Vuitton hardcase is notoriously expensive. With that price comes alot of craftsmanship. I prefer to consider Hardcase Louis Vuitton as an investment in myself - besides the per use cost is very minimal if you travel alot!

I never really seen the point of uber-expensive LV suitcases and trunks. Just the idea of putting them as checked baggage at an airport, makes one think that one will never see that suitcase or trunk again.

Poorly paid baggage handler thinks, oh this is a nice expensive suitcase, I can sell this on Ebay.

LV briefcases yes, they are nice.

@mukatuna Not all travel is by commercial flight. There are still private airplanes, railways, and forsooth, the RMS Queen Mary 2.

Hartmann has some hardside luggage that look much like the LV's but cost way less and I feel better about checking those...

Yeah, The hardsided luggage is mainly for flying private. I checked one of m y bags and saw it tumble down the baggage claim and I never did it again.

People who have this type of luggage usually own their own lear jet.

I personally would go for globetrotter luggage if you must fly in the human cattle car otherwise known as commercial flight.
