31 Jan 2011,
The whole Egypt situation scares me right now. I think it will be OK but you still never know. I believe in that country. I don't want any country to go to war. Please do not start war. The great thing though, is the Egyptian Army. The army is behaving as an individual and has said: "We will not harm the people." Even if the government tells them to. They will not hurt the people. Of course this goes only so far I'm sure. To keep stability the military has a responsibility.
Does the newly appointed officials have a say? Are there safeguards in place? I hope so. Someone needs a mentor. Heck, no one else has experience running Egypt.
The people are right not to start crazy attacks. We don't know what is happening. It's a different culture. I bet the current leader is setting up mentors, preparing for another to be in office. Remember, Mr. Mubarak has been the leader of Egypt for over thirty years.
A lot of people around the world don't understand Arabic. The rest of the world can only scratch the surface on what's happening in Egypt. I almost think that is sad, since we are looking into the issue. I, as a Canadian have done ignorance to the Egyptian people, by not understanding Arabic. To think of it, I have an Egyptian friend. Haven't spoken to her since high school but she was my friend. Christine Siddham, if I remember correctly. Oh and Dr. Mattar and his daughter Sarah. I used to talk to her sometimes.
You know, I'm not really worried.
Biggy
Great song, though inspired by bad circumstances.
