Sprouting seeds is a great way to add vitamins and variety to your food preps. If you lack the ability or fuel to cook some seeds you can simply sprout them to gain the food value. This video is not a complete how to but it will get you interested to start researching the topic.

  • Do you grow wheat?

  • @mrhnm I dont but members of our retreat group do so this is where I learn how to do it. Its alot of work to do it by hand it makes you appreciate a 50 pound bag of wheat you buy from the store.

  • Why not just eat the wheat?

  • @gettinready101 ITs hard so you would have to soak it. The sprouts give it a better taste and more vitamins.

  • Thanks for evrything-

I notice your mags behind you there- how often do you change out the ammo (rest their springs) if you keep several loaded? Or is that not a worry?

    Thanks again.

  • @icaasi Most of those mags are not loaded. I keep some loaded in a large black ammo box and those I can get to quickly if needed.

  • @Beatnikzombie I have a huge windoow that takes up most of the north wall of my place. I get lots of light.

  • Does it matter red or white wheat ?

  • @Hermanvogel I think that has more to do with bad lighting.

  • @ThatGuy182545 It's doubtful that you would have enough light to do that.

  • He doesn't look good, he has dark circles around his eyes. Lack of vit. B. He needs to look after that...

  • Here in the UK. Wheat berries that are meant to be feed for horses, is cheapest way for me in my area. £7 for a 25kg bag, I figured horses have to have uncontaminated food or they get colic so it would be alright for people. We have been eating it as sprouts, pressure cooked for breakfast, ground up for bread, etc. Hope this helps someone.

  • @ThatGuy182545 Hurr.... I maybe didn't phrase that very well. What I am asking is this: would it be possible to have a sprouting setup to grow food in my apartment, and then be able to turn around and take some of what I was producing and use it to seed the next batch of sprouts? How would that work?

  • Is it possible to do sprouting and have some of the finished product be reusable for seed?

  • This has been extremely helpful and I now have something sprouting daily. It's a good snack when ever. Thanks again

  • this is a great video. are you using red or white wheat? from lds? thanks for all the info you put out.
