I find the stepmother intimidating. Realistically, a person with that kind of intimidating aura and hard authority is very hard to fight against, even in real life - even if they're much older. And Cinderella is by nature nice, the reason she doesn't want to defy her stepmother is because she's upholding her own principles. Not because of her stepmother. She probably hate that woman's guts.

@inuyasha6457 Germanian men who are born blond sometimes it happens that their hair goes gradually black in the years as they mature... Same happened to my dad, he's Dutch. ;)
