Balkan Horses Band-Vladimir Velichkov-kaval-03.03.2011

Valdimir Velichkov was born in Pleven in 1970. Graduated from "Panayot Pipkov" music high school in 1988 tutored by Valentin Nedyalkov. In 1997 he obtained his master's degree in "Conducting folklore ensembles" at the Plovdiv academy of music, dance and fine arts, in the class of associate professor Liuben Dossev.

Valdimir Velichkov represents the new age in kaval - with his own style and perfect skills. His biography as teacher and instrumentalist is rich. He is best known for playing in the "Kanarite" orchestra, "Balgare" ensemble with which he was part in thousands of concerts in Bulgaria and abroad. As a single musician Vladimir Velichkov recorded many pieces of music in the national radio and TV. He often takes part in music projects with different style and color: fusion, folk, techno. He also records jingles for commercials. He played duets with Ivo Papazov, Georgi Yanev, Veselin Koichev "Beli, zeleni, cherveni", Petar Ralchev, Teodosiy Spasov and many more.

Prizes he won:

1st prize in 1986 and 1988 Pleven folklore competition 1st prize in 1989 in Beli izvor kaval competition 1st prize in 1995 in Silistra Professional folklore orchestras competition 1st prize in 1997 in Plovdiv Academy of music, dance and fine arts 2nd national academy competition 2 golden medals in Atlanta in 1994 World gymnastics competition won with Valdimir's music.

Since 1997 Vladimir Velichkov leads his own class in the Plovdiv academy of music, dance and fine arts.
