EDIT: It was determined this is A-55.
This evening A63/Limuw flew in and a surprise visitor flew in from the opposite direction shortly thereafter. It is a juvenile bald eagle, but the big question is this. Is that YOU, beloved A49? She is Limuw's older (2006) sister; the first eaglet to hatch naturally in over 50 years on the Channel Islands. She was incubated by her natural parents at this nest on Santa Cruz Island, CA.
We will soon find out from the Institute for Wildlife Studies biologist or island crew who the mystery guest was. Please visit http://www.iws.org to learn more about this important bald eagle restoration project.
