Ok so I started learning not too long ago (I want to learn to do veil poi) and this video made more sense then the Dvd I bought. I've been having trouble with just passing the poi over my head. Thanks for the video! Their alot of help.

you look a lot like chase from house

I've taught this move a lot, and I find that the most helpful way to teach it is:
1. Swing the poi in your dominant hand over your head like a lasso
2. Bring it down, circle in front of you
3. Practice one beat lasso, one beat down
4. Put your left and right hand together (clasp them w one poi) and do #3
5. Split beat
It works like a charm! I've had some people who have NEVER used poi before learn it in as little as 5 min.

Actually, I found it easier to do the corkscrew over the head, and after I had learnt that, to do it as you show it in the video.
Just sayin, maybe this will help someone.
Keep twirlin =)

Fair enough, I find it easier to do moves when I can see my hands, as it helps me understand it spatially, but you're not alone, I've found a few people who learn this move easier above the head, one person said it was because the poi weren't close to their face, so they didn't feel scared of it.
I hope it does help someone, and I'm sure it will, thanks for helping out man, input is always appreciated :)
