U.S. 129 a.k.a. "The Dragon" is a road connecting Tennessee and North Carolina. A favorite of motorcylists & sports car drivers, it has 318 hairpin turns & switchbacks in 11 miles, making it one of the most challenging roads to ride in North America, let alone the world.
Thousands of motorcyclists & sports car owners flock here each summer to conquer the dragon, and pump millions of dollars into to local economies of both states.
Sometimes, tractor trailers mistakingly get on this road, not realizing they cannot stay in their lanes, and all hell can break loose during motorcycle season.
This video is footage I shot in 2006 at The Dragon, many of you have seen my first video from this footage called "TRUCKS ON THE DRAGON" on YouTube.
I have re-edited this footage into a 60 second argument against allowing 18-wheelers on this road.
Enjoy, and let me know what you thought!
Peace! -zen
I grew up with bikers and truckers and I've been in the seat of both so I know the dangers and joys. I don't know where this place is but if it's anything like some of the mountain roads in the carolinas the truckers have no choice but to take as a shorter route just like the bikes and cars. I must admit the 1 in this video knew he was traveling to fast or else he'd not have blown his horn to warn oncoming drivers. He should be more respectful and slower traveling for the safety of ALL drivers.

18-wheelers were on that road long before motorcycle riders ever thought about it. if you motorcycle riders cant stay in your lane on that road then you shouldnt complain about the 18-wheelers not stayin in theirs

wow.. typical haters.. Ban all motorcycles and cars from roads that an 18 wheeler may need to drive on to deliver your MOTORCYCLE! your GROCERIES! your GAS! your CLOTHING!! You moron... Next time you hate on truckers for the roads they have to drive on, just remember how you got every single solitary damn thing you own. It was guaran-god-damn-teed on a truck along the line, usually more than once.

@ChrisWade0690 Ahh yes, another "a trucker did this" story. If I told you all the times I had cars and bikes almost hit me, we would be here all night and day, so does that mean all cars and bikes should be banned to the right 2 lanes as well? Think about what you're saying, there are bad apples in every tree, no one is perfect! The interstate isn't our territory, but the back roads and "the gap" aren't yours either. We have to get the freight from point A to point B somehow.

i am a truck driver, and i have been on the dragon (in a car) and i totally agree that trucks should not be allowed on this road!

@drumbasher you talk as if the interstate is "your territory" i've seen COUNTLESS truckers change lanes onto a car or motorcycle forcing the automobile off onto the shoulder of the interstate almost killing them, i almost witnessed my own father get ran over by a trucker because the trucker decided to move to the left lane for no fucking reason on top of my dad, so we should ban the truckers from the gap, and on the interstate you truck drivers should have to stay in the far right 2 lanes
