The Phones are a tough act to pigeonhole due to their unique brand of rock-n-roll that helped shape the Minneapolis sound in the 80s. Jeff Cerise (vocals, sax & percussion), Rick Taves (R.T.)(guitar & vocals), Brad Mattson (drums & percussion), and James Riley (bass & vocals) are all exceptionally talented musicians and songwriters whose live performances attracted large crowds whenever and wherever they played. This 1984 eXXtra program captures them performing live in the studio at White Bear Lake, MN and gives you a taste of how tight this band was. This program was produced, directed & edited by Larry Hutchinson Hutch.
