I read Garp and then gobbled up hotel nh. J IRVIN puts you in a strange place. nh is the only book that made me physically cry.Garp is my first novel Ive read and as a knukledragging non -wrestler please sort this out. WHY DOES JI MATTER?

@ceroeck yeah wrestling was a huge part of his life in school
he was even a wrestling coach at a few schools
it gave him discipline and the ability to redo things, which he said helped him in his writing

His also was/is a wresting coach and official and earned a scholarship to the university of Pittsburgh from his wrestling performance. Apparently wresting is what taught him discipline
