Videographer: At aproximetly 5pm I entered the Wat Pathuwanaram on May 19th, 2010. There were many redshirt protesters already there, seeking refuge, and I encountered several journalists. The Thai people I spoke too, felt protected in the temple and believed they were safe according to Thai custom. We journalists/photographers realized we had no exit and were trapped in the temple with everyone else, as the sound of small and heavier weapons fire was now coming from the street - from the direction of Siam Center as the troops advanced. The sound of weapons fire began around 5:50pm, and we took cover near a wall. The 1st video showing the people running form the gunfire was taken from this location, near the souvenier shop. It continued for some time. I left to look for a back exit from the wat. When I returned I found the English journalist wounded at the aid station. The red shirts took me to the area where the dead where laid out. I personally, have no idea who was firing these rounds or where the wounded came from - the street outside or inside the temple. Videographer's Note: These events are chronological and this is a roughly edited sequence of events, as they unfolded. If you have any contribution to make or corrections concerning location and events, please use the comments and I'll respond to you. Note also, despite the heat of events on the ground, I have made an effort to be impartial. If some of the opposing sides are not represented, it was simply because I had no access to them.

You are free to comment, but note that personal attacks, obscenities, simple negative or positive comments will not be posted. Please make a well reasoned argument and not a partisan attack, you'll get posted. Otherwise not. I apologize in advance, remarks concerning the role of the monarchy in Thailand will not be posted.

  • Anyone know where these bodies came from? People shot in or near the temple, or brought to the temple for religious reasons?

  • @palmisano VIDEOGRAPHER. Some of them were shot inside, some outside. Nurse and one man inside for sure. Journalist shot inside.

  • @tbmpvideo You've verified some videos/pics I've seen. I recommend you check out facebook account fightforudd. Their account keeps getting blocked by CRES so they keep changing the name, but they have a lot of stuff you won't see in the official/traditional media . . .

  • @palmisano VIDEOGRAPHER. Thanks, but I a non-partisan. Only a recorder of events from the eyes of a foriegner.

  • any more video on this? please upload

  • @etcpool VIDEOGRAPHER just click on the link tbmpvideo and you'll go to all the videos.

  • One caring registered nurse was shot in temple area while she was busy saving others..........and it seems like only a handful of bangkokians like us care about it.The rest who has been brainwashing for decades just concerns about where to go for shopping after many high end malls were burnt down.

    What a shame..........

  • thai gov n soilders shoots at people!!

  • @palmisano Then why has the Preliminary report already concluded that at least 3 of the six were shot in the temple by soldiers on the over-head railway line? This is the Government backed report - but it probably won't be published in Thailand of course. The truth isn't allowed here, but the report It is available abroad. The other murder victims were also shot in the temple but the report says that they can't be sure what kind of bullet was used. Listen to what the journalist says at 1.35.

  • The correct name of the temple is Wat Pathum Wanaram

    (Thai: วัดปทุมวนาราม).

  • ok..?
