The CERES Market and Shop sell freshly harvested produce from our own market gardens, the social food enterprises we support, other local organic farms and backyard producers. Each week we share food mile information about our produce. CERES adheres to an ethical and environmental purchasing policy. The CERES Shop stocks bulk goods to minimise waste and the Market hosts an Urban Orchard exchange where local gardeners swap their surplus produce.

The CERES Harvest Festival celebrates the joy of growing and sharing food.

CERES Organic Market and Shop is at the centre of our local food network. Each week, in all weather, we sell the best local produce from CERES farm, other small sustainable growers and backyard producers around Melbourne. Equally as important, the Market is a place for people to come together, meet friends and share ideas and creativity. Melbourne musicians help create a vibrant atmosphere and play music amongst the harvest, the chooks and the coffee machine.
The Market and Shop sell food that has been selected by a strict purchasing policy. Products are selected because they are good quality, local, are minimally packaged, organic, and free of genetic modification and traded fairly. The CERES Shop stocks bulk goods to minimise waste.

Swap as well as buy
CERES Market and Shop host the CERES Urban Orchard Project. The Urban Orchard Project was the first garden produce swap in Australia and the model has been reproduced in cities all over Australia. More than 170 households across the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne who are interested in sharing produce grown in their own backyards are part of Urban Orchard Project. Those with produce to swap gather every Saturday at the CERES Market. Lemons are swapped for apricots, apples for tomatoes, recipes for gardening tips, all on a completely informal and friendly basis.
