One of the most beautifully arranged piano blues ballads ever.
By the immortal, yet obscure Arthur "Montana" Taylor, originally issued in 1929.
Sorry for the missing video, but I HAD to publish this MP3 copy,NOW, for ONE reason: only a few days remain in 2009 - the tune still is exactly 80 years old!
Depending on interest I will try to add a keyboard video later.
AFAIK only 2 solo renditions were published in the last 60 years, on LP and CD, both by Austrians: Martin Pyrker did a great job, I base my tribute partly on his interpretation. Hannes Otahal, another Austrian, has issued a similar version on his CD as well, his 1991 live video performance can be viewed on YouTube as well.
Montana Taylor was the lowest of them all - in a GOOD sense! Too bad that so few of his recordings exist today, and that he had disppeared twice and for good in 1946
Great artist U R. Awesome how you play those greats,- Jimmy Booker, Montana, etc...- by ear. perfect blues feel too.
