  • (cont.) I remember getting a big head that I had all this "power" to report other children for not following the rules--but the only two kids I ended up ever reporting were these two girls named Kathy & Kelly...my own two sisters !--they NEVER let me live that down to this day. True story.

  • "Lolipop Lady" is a typically wonderfully colorful English term ...in U.S. they're boringly called "crossing guards"..

  • Yes we call them lollipop lady or lollipop man because of the round STOP sign they carry on a pole which looks like a giant lollipop!

  • Very interesting story. I was thinking about getting rid of all of my old videos but I think I will keep them.

  • Coincidentally, Twish..when I was 12--in a town called Ridgewood, New Jersey here in the states, I was a "crossing guard" myself for my elementary school--("lolipop boy" ??? LOL) had the whole gear (including our version of the lolipop STOP pole) (cont.)
