The Plextortion is an overdrive or distortion pedal that was originally designed to emulate a JCM800 (Back in Black era AC/DC tones through van halen, dokken, ratt, and all those amazing 80's rock "cranked Marshall" tones). The new "Super Plextortion" nails those tones AND gets you even more modern tones... looking for Vai in a box? This pedal comes as close as I've ever heard in any other pedal.

It has plenty of volume and has 3 gain settings - low, medium, and high gain settings on a switch as well as an independent gain control.

I've noticed that some guys like play their distortion pedals that emulate marshall tones THROUGH a marshall. Let's be honest - I can play a chorus pedal through a marshall and get a very "marshally" sounding chorus pedal... In my opinion this isn't a fair or accurate representation of a pedal. Because of this, I record my clips and videos through everyday affordable amps in order to be as accurate as possible.

  • I love that tone, I keep my signal chain clean using a Probes Pedals Super Looper. Check it out! on You Tube ID "xj7P-ajPeZM"

  • @henryanto05 Of course, of all our pedals are true bypass anyway..!! But that Looper looks great :)

  • @wampcat can you get that sound out of a fender super reverb??

  • @ihaveaverybadcold Pretty much so, most of the demos are done through amps such as those. It wouldn't be hard to dial it in with this pedal

  • 1:44 "Oh, this pedal is so versatile I forgot about this awesome feature!"

    :D Rockin!

  • @sportsportsport Maybe i will try it out in some other amps to see what happens. Maybe a smaller amp would be more suited with the Pinnacle. What is your amp or current setup? Maybe i need a change.

  • @darrenw5094 The appropriate scenario is that you dispose of the Pinnacle then. Unless you consider changing your amps. Amps are the most important aspect of tone. It's nearly the entire voice of what is transcended through psychical playing into sound. Pedals merely enhance what is already 'the tone'. If a pedal is detrimental to what you already like then the pedal is not right. Find one that suits it and behaves well with the amp. It doesn't mean the Pinnacle is a bad pedal or fizzy though.

  • @sportsportsport Thanks for the reply. I am thinking that my Greenback cab is not so good. Maybe very nassle is the mids. I would love this pedal to work for me, but it's unuseable with my current setup.

  • @darrenw5094 You're the only person ever I know of to refer to the pinnacle as a fuzz box. Maybe you need an EQ and a stacked OD with it. Mine is certainly not fizzy, I hate fizzy distortions.
