Here we have our two Nile- or Egyptian geese. they have been at our place for a few weeks now and already rule the roost. only the swans and a hawaii goose are above them in the pecking order:P. they were raised by humans and are therefor very tame. Eventually we will rehabilitate them and they will go back to the wild

  • Could you tell me abit about these birds

    How loud are they?

And what sized aviary would they need

  • Hi!, they can be very loud yes. especially when they have eggs ( well all summer and spring actually :p ) Temperament wise they are not the nicest birds as they can become very aggressive towards everything that comes close to their nest/young. They have even been known to chase mute swans off their nests, to conquer it for themselves. If you want to keep them then you should have quite a large plot of land as they eat a lot of grass and preferebly a pond in which they can swim.

  • I can't believe they let you touch them. We have a couple at our zoo and one tried to peck at my camera.

  • these two were handraised before we got them at the bird rehabilitation centre. They now live a happy life in the wild :)
