This is my video entry for the 2010 HSBC Student Bursary competition. I was fortunate enough to win one of eight bursaries for £15,000 to help with university study and it is thanks to HSBC that I am managing to pay my fees to study Acting at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) in London. My aim is to set up a Theatre in Education project for bereaved children once I graduate - please watch the video for a more copious explanation!

Here is a bit more information about me and the funds I am seeking to help me pay the rest of my drama school fees:

I'm in my first year of a three year degree and diploma in Acting at the very well renowned ALRA (The Academy of Live & Recorded Arts), which is in Wandsworth, London. Because my course is a vocational training, my total fees are just shy of £36,000. I can not have any help from the Government, my LEA or the Student Loans Company, and I do not have any sort of scholarship from ALRA.
As a result, I have been working incredibly hard to raise and save enough money to enable me to stay for the entirety of my course. ALRA's statistics for graduates finding work within the acting industry are incredibly high, so I really need to complete this course and then I hope I'll find a way to make a career from my training.
I really believe I am worthwhile of your time and support. I have wanted a career in performing since a ridiculously young age and I really don't think you could find many drama students more dedicated and determined than I am. There are so many things I would love to do off the back of this training and I will do everything that I can to make them happen.
I fully understand that most people are unable to actually offer me any monetary support, but nonetheless, spreading the word of my plight around the Internet and elsewhere might just be enough help. Somewhere out there are people keen to support young people entering a training in the Performing Arts - I just need your help to find them. (And if you have a spare tenner or whatever then I would be incredibly grateful. Every little really does help!)
So please, be in touch and tell your friends/family/neighbours/anyone who you think might have just a passing interest. I am so grateful for the help I have received so far and especially from HSBC!
