The elves are a lot like whites.

1. They are regarded as a "superior race" (same way white people are still regarded in many parts of the world)

2. Their power is fading (post-colonialism, Eurozone crisis etc)

3. They are declining in numbers (low birthrates in the West)

4. Other powers are rising up to supplant them (rise of BRIC economies; sheer population increase in the less-developed world etc)

Question: Am I seeing right that Celeborn has brown eyes, or is it just the lighting in that photo? I know Marton's eyes are a hazelly brown color (like my word I just made up? :P), but I would have thought that he'd wear blue contacts like Orlando did, so I just wondered if it was maybe that picture.
