i have seen many tests and done some of my own mac beats a pc on windows on boot up but linux is freaking hard to beat on boot up linux is fast booting up but peeps keep in mind these 2 computers arent in the shape they should be and if they were linux should be faster well for one the 6000 has higher specs in first place but the mac is an great computer just this one needs work and def a few upgrades to at least ram and it can surprise you tho linux is a great op as well ^^

also note that the imac is power pc cpu and thats slower older tech anyway my brothers macbook pro is lightning fast comeing and my hp when i had it on linux was to just on windows boom took forever to boot up windows sucks anyway tho if you take a regular pc and put linux on it can run great just as well and sometimes better then mac but mac is easy easy to use benifits with all really just keep in mind both of these are old and not fully right both need stuff from looks of it

well for one no hp takes longer to start up i had an hp dv3 with 4 gigs of ram and i kept it in great shape kept everything mantained and was slow to start still hps are but you see the ibook is old doesnt go over 1.25 gigs of ram they start slow and mac doesnt take longer to load it really depeneds on the mac and specs newer macs come on really fast tho usealy linux is the fastest to boot keep in mind my hp was windows lol hp sucks i constantly had hardware issues due to crapy workmenship

WTF, dude start both lappy's and one fial to load but yet ILappy took the longer load but yet he had to restart the HP lappy again to load properly. If you ask me, the HP would load faster then the ILappy Book cause for some reason, Maccy takes a longer time to load. Maccy Lost to HP Lappy. Are you happy? LOL

this is because the pc hardware is horridly outdated it would be twice as slow on windows and the computer appered to be haveing some issues anyway linux is one of the best out there is you have the brains to handel a computer lol if you knew what you were talking about you would know that windows is well over ten gigs higher just to store let alone run it has a virus scale that is not to far off from a million gets closer ever day it fragments out badly and the registry is always a problem
