On 25 January 2012, Luke Williamson announced on his father's official website that Nicol Williamson had died on 16 December 2011, after a two-year struggle with oesophageal cancer. According to him, Nicol Williamson passed away peacefully.
"He gave it all he had: never gave up, never complained, maintained his wicked sense of humour to the end. His last words were 'I love you'. I was with him, he was not alone, he was not in pain."

As no one else seems to have made this point, I will go so far as to say that this man was quite possibly the greatest actor who ever lived. His failure to reach global stardom was only down to his own well-noted eccentricities, and no defiency in skill or popularity.

Why is it so hard to find Nicol Williamson's films?.The Reckoning,The Bofors Gun,Human Factor,Laughter in the Dark,Inadmissable Evidence,The Monk haven't been seen for years.
