May 18th 1980, Sunday morning in Portland Oregon I was driving a delivery truck when Mount Saint Helens blew. It took me 27 years to return to the mountain. Here is a short video for those of you who didn't witness the explosion (Turn up the volume).

  • I climbed St. Helens two weeks ago. Some say its beauty was taken from her, I say it has a whole new form of beauty. I wish I had American citizenship (I'm Canadian) so I could live closer to this jewel and be able to explore at will. Guess I'll have to move to southern British Columbia! Nice video, doesn't deserve the 7 dislikes. Two thumbs up.

  • The explosion sounds like me everyday on the toilet seat doing a #2.

  • @ThePulse333 What I Don't Get is how did life come back so quick. All i can say is it was so beautiful after about 27 years

  • I was in Bremerton Washington on May 18th 1980, it took me 31 years to get back there, saw the volcano last summer. One of the most spectacular sites I've ever seen in this country.

  • @ElevenBar ....actually there have been "sideways" eruptions before....its called a lateral blast.....one of the main ones is the 1902 eruption of MT. PELEE in 1902 which killed around 30,000 people with only 3 survivors even remotly in the vicinity,1 of which was locked in a dungeon...Louis-Auguste Cyparis...the other 2 survivors were leon Compere Leandre and Havivra Da Ifrile

  • KABOOOM!Rumble!Rumble!

  • @mountaindew18able that was harry truman;) he died in the 1980 st.helens eruption very right but he wasn´t president..

harry S.truman 33rd president of the USA born 1884 died 1972 in Kansas City

  • @ElevenBar he was not the only one who died either. One of the former presidents did in his home cuz he didnt want to evacuate cuz he lived there for years.
