Form of the Song

"Something" is one of the most elegantly epic love songs by a band, coming from the 1969 release,
Abbey Road, by The Beatles. The song was written and composed by guitarist, George Harrison, also credited in writing songs like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
The song "Something" is played to highlight the love story in the musical,
Across the Universe, released in 2007.

The song is broken up into two parts, verse and chorus. All of the chords used in the song roll together very well, like with most love songs. The sentiment of the song comes from giving each chord proper attention, so learn the chords correctly and learn the chord progression. Remember that proper posture and the way your fingers or pick hit the strings make a big difference in doing the song justice.

"Something" uses the following song form:

* Intro
* Verse 1
* Verse 2
* Chorus
* Solo
* Verse 3
* Outro

  • The exact same chords as in my Beatles chordbook :D

    Fun and easy to play on acoustic and electric!

  • Not easy to play..

  • Frank Sinatra was particularly impressed with "Something"; calling it "the greatest love song ever written," he sang it hundreds of times at various concerts. However, he once made the comment that "Something" was his all-time favourite Lennon/McCartney song (knowing neither composed the track), and frequently introduced it as such
